destination?… inspiration! August 15, 2007

ilikeyoublog @ 9:55 pm

i like you is a community of local artists based in minneapolis mn. Stared in the spring of ‘07 by two little ladies who wanted nothing more than to put their idle hands to work making things that could only be described as lovely, precious, endearing, beautiful and thoughtful.
We meet in a whirlwind of glitter, scissors, scraps and ideas to create, to talk, to invent and or re-invent, and to support eachothers crazy craftiness! Are covered in glue and drips of paint? Do carry your knitting needles where ever you go? Do you catch yourself thinking ” I can do something with that!” And do you stay up way to late because you just can’t stop!!? …. You are not alone! You are one of us!!
We hope to inspire and encourage others to seek and appreciate the hand made. We hope to learn as much as teach. Our goal is to find daily inspiration and share it.
We own and operate a small consignment store selling locally made goods with a spotlight on local artists. We want to share these artists with you, and we’d like to meet others in the process!

Morning, Dear Heart: Love your “blog” and it sounds so like you. I’m glad you had the intestinal fortitude to do something you enjoy. Lots of good luck in your venture. Still have to beat a path to your door SOON. Love and hugs

Every time I come in I wanna go home and CRAFT it up – you definately are inspirational and I hope business booms and that some day you do start that craft club on the 2nd floor. IF NOT I will most definately write you a letter and start my own second level craft club in my home cause I could sure use some killer ladies to talk to while holding the glue. Thanks for bringing a spot of joy to the south side of the city.

    Hello,
My friend Erin who makes curster dolls and sells them at your shop told me about you. I have a small handbag business that I run out of South Minneapolis called ’sketchbook’. I was wondering if you might be interested in showing my work at all. You can check out my website as well as my etsy page for more info about me: http://sketchbook.etsy.com
Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing back.
    Best,
    Amber

Hey Ang! Hopefully you’ll see this. It’s been forever since I’ve talked to you. How are things going??

We’re trying to get ahold of people for our 15 year reunion. Can you believe it’s been 15 years?? I was blown out of my socks when I heard it was the 25 year reunion for the release of Thriller. Sorry, that had nothing to do with anything.

Anyway, shoot me an email and tell me how you’ve been!
