What we have been working on lately … July 11, 2008

You know, I do believe that crafting is a winter sport. Here in Minnesota the summer season is so dreadfully short that we hang outside whenever possible.  It is hard to sew, knit, print or  assemble anything when all you want to do is go to the beach. Here are a couple of shots                                                             of things Angela and I have been working on.

Hard day at work?t

Hard day at work?

This is Hank, he’s a real looker. These mini ties are the hottest thing going! Our customers that have bought them have come back to us raving! Taking the dogs on walks they are stopped time and time again. Available at i like you!

Angela has been hard at work knitting. Knitting in 90 degree temperatures doesn’t seem right, right? She’s very good at planning ahead we will be ready for the fall season on time! These are a stroke of genius! A hat and scarf combo, and a super cute one at that! Her applique scarves have also been a huge hit! The perfect weight for cool summer nights.

I know that some people think that leg warmers are not cool … those people are wrong. I said it, leg warmers are not only cool but sexy. A short skirt and a great pair of leg warmers … yum.

At i like you we stock leg warmers for adults, as well as bees knees baby and child size leg warmers.

Nora of Bodylish

Nora of Bodylish

Doesn’t Nora of Bodylish look like she is having a great time at our February show? What could be a better Valentines Day gift than some of her delicious Hot-n-Hunky soap. It smells of Lavender and Cassia – my favorite, although her Cowgirl soap is a very close second!

Journals

Journals

Stephanie of Phantom Limb creates some of the greatest journals I’ve ever seen! If you are a list maker, record keeper, a diary writer, a journal devotee or know someone who is – this is a gift that would be treasured.

Phantom Limb is based out of Detroit, we love having her as a part of i like you.

Too Many Suitors

Too Many Suitors

Too Many Suitors is the brain child of one of my favorite people we’ve met since opening i like you – Sara Lintner, or Slintner as her friends get to call her.

Sara was our booth neighbor at the Crafted Together show in White Bear Lake this spring. She was a pleasure to be next to – so much so we placed her next to us at our May show!!

*I’ll introduce you to more artists tomorrow – this party is getting so crowded! *sweet dreams green beans*

chicago renegade September 26, 2007

5am comes early, no matter what time you go to bed.
On the road, well kind-of. We had to pull over to check the oil, and of course the tire pressure …. who knew??
The thought of sleeping never crossed our minds, we were on our way – on our way to chicago, to freedom, to inspiration, to bad on the road food, to lack of sleep, to endless laughter and most of all to check out all these amazing crafters who edged us out of the running for a booth at the RENEGADE CRAFT FAIR.Our Driver (and friend) Josh
We got to the fair about 1:45 – we made pretty good time. I must say, there were many booths – and many empty booths (that we would have been happy to fill!) Lots of good ideas, many talented artists! It was really nice to see some of our lovely artists and friends there doing well!! Check out these photos:Emily of EKRA Naomi, of Glitter Workshop Caryn of Fiery Lion Designs
I do have a few annoyances …. you know there are 2 sides to every coin-
Like, how mant t-shirts does it take to fill a craft fair? If you ask at Renegade the answer would be about 50%. -not that they weren’t cute, because thay were … I bought a couple. I just wanted a variety, I craved things I had not yet seen. My cravings were not satisfied.
There were booths that I would say were simply lovely, color – texture – and overall beauty.Ang, adorable as always!
And there were booths that felt like they were sticking out their tongues at me and singing “we got in and you didn’t!!!”
I know that is just the way it goes … but I also know we would have been a great addition to their show!
I also know I was far more verbal about all of this after a couple of mojitos!!
All in all, the trip was fab!
A huge thanks to those who made it possible!!!
Rach for providing a great place to sleep, and Mom & Becca Jo for taking care of the store!!
We love you all!Hey, that’s me. Wishing I was back at the fair.
By the way, this is the only picture of me taken during the trip – ’cause I always have the camera.
I’ll work on getting in more action shots.
